This page explains where we deliver, how delivery is scheduled, what is included at setup, what you need to have ready, and what to do on the day the crate arrives. It forms part of our Terms of Sale.
01 Where we deliver
We ship robot hardware within Canada and to the continental United States. Delivery to Alaska, Hawaii, US territories or other countries is not available through the site; ask us and we will tell you what is possible. Deliveries go by freight carrier, crated, to a commercial address with someone present to receive them. Residential delivery may be possible but can add cost and time; tell us on the order if you need it.
02 Delivery timing
Robots are built to order with the manufacturer. Every date or window we give you is an estimate, confirmed in writing on your order and updated as we learn more. We do not publish delivery dates on the site. In outline: we confirm your order in writing, place it with the manufacturer (allocation), tell you when it ships to us or to you, and then book a delivery date with your contact person.
Shipments to the United States cross the border as exports from Canada and typically take extra transit time for customs clearance, often several business days beyond a domestic delivery, depending on the port, the broker and the carrier. We build that into the estimate we give you.
03 Scheduling
We book a delivery date only after the balance has been received in cleared funds, including any taxes, duties and freight on the invoice. Once it has, we contact the person you named on the order to agree a delivery window and confirm site access. If you cannot receive the unit on the agreed date, tell us as early as you can; carrier re-delivery or storage charges are passed through at cost.
04 Customs paperwork for United States deliveries
For a delivery in the United States, Cory provides the customs paperwork: a commercial invoice, a packing list, and the HS (Harmonized System) classification for the unit and accessories, together with the country of origin. Unless your order confirmation says otherwise, you are the importer of record and are responsible for duties, brokerage and any US sales or use tax not collected at checkout, as set out in the Terms of Sale. If you have your own customs broker, tell us on the order and we will work with them; otherwise the carrier's broker clears the shipment and bills you.
05 What is included at setup
On-site setup is included only where your configuration or order confirmation says so. Robot as a Service includes setup for the robot you own, as described on the pricing page. A hardware only order is delivered crated with the manufacturer's quick start material, and you can add setup as a quoted service.
Where setup is included, a Cory technician unpacks the unit, checks it over, powers it up, connects it to your Wi-Fi, deploys and configures the Cory software, runs it through its first tasks in your space, and walks your contact person and staff through safe daily operation and the stop procedure. For locations in the United States, on-site setup is included only where the configuration says so; otherwise setup is done remotely with your contact person on site, or quoted as a separate visit.
06 What you need to have ready
- A contact person. One named person with authority to receive the delivery, sign for it, and make decisions about placement and setup. They should be reachable by phone on delivery day.
- Access for a freight crate. Ground level access or a loading dock, a route from the truck to the working area wide enough for the crate, no stairs. Tell us in advance if a lift gate or pallet jack is needed.
- Space. A flat, level, dry indoor area for the robot to work and to be stored, clear of drop offs, stairs, loose cables and clutter, with a clear zone around it during operation. Normal room temperature; do not store the unit in a vehicle or an unheated space.
- Power. A standard grounded outlet near the storage spot for charging.
- Wi-Fi. A reliable Wi-Fi network with internet access (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, WPA2 or WPA3), the password available to the technician, and any firewall rules or captive portals sorted out beforehand. A wired network port near the working area helps but is not required. Cory software uses the connection for updates, monitoring and support.
- Systems to integrate. If your order includes integrations (point of sale, catalogue, booking), have the logins or API access ready and a person available who can approve access.
- Staff. Anyone who will operate the robot should be present for the walk through where setup is included.
07 Inspection on delivery
Before you sign the carrier's delivery receipt, inspect the crate: look for holes, crushing, tilt indicators, water marks or broken banding. If you see anything, write it on the delivery receipt before signing, photograph it, and email us the same day. Signing a clean receipt makes a transit claim much harder.
Unpack carefully and keep the crate, foam and packaging; you will need them for any warranty or return shipment. Check the unit and the accessories against the packing list and report anything missing or damaged within two business days of delivery, with photos.
08 If a unit is damaged in transit
Risk passes to you on delivery, so damage that happened before the unit reached you is ours to sort out with the carrier. If damage is noted on the delivery receipt, or concealed damage is reported to us with photos within two business days of delivery, we file the carrier claim and arrange repair or replacement of the affected unit or parts at no cost to you. Please keep everything, including the packaging, until we say the claim is closed. Damage reported after that window may limit what we can recover from the carrier; we will still help, but the remedy may depend on the carrier's decision.
If you refuse a visibly damaged crate at the door, tell us straight away so we can redirect it and get a replacement moving.
